The Tamil Nadu State Planning Commission conducted an evaluation study on the Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) Care Cascade under the “Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam” scheme. This flagship program of the Tamil Nadu government offers comprehensive home-based health care services to ensure a continuum of care for beneficiaries. The study aimed to assess the scheme's impact on controlling NCDs and capture beneficiaries' perceptions. The objectives included evaluating overall screening coverage, screening through MTM, field functionaries, and institutional services. The Institute of Community Medicine (ICM), Madras Medical College, assisted in conducting the study. The scheme has been recognized for its innovative approach and significant impact on improving access to care and treatment for NCDs.
