Hon’ble Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi presented the budget for 1974-75. “The nation is facing a serious economic crisis characterised by severe shortages, bottlenecks in production and uncontrolled inflation. The common man faces shortages of essential commodities needed for his daily life. In this situation of uncertainty, the evolution of long-term policies, drawing up of plans and their implementation have all become extremely difficult.”
