The Hon’ble H. G. Stokes presented the budget for 1933-34. “Economically, as the House knows, the Presidency continued to languish under the universal trade depression. There seems little hope of a marked or general improvement in trade unless a forward step can be taken in the matter of war debts which is to form one of the principal topics of business at the International Conferrence in April next.”
